About me

I am a technology entrepreneur from Dagestan and the founder of Umma Life. I build Muslim Tech products and digital services for a global Muslim audience.

Isa Dagestani

Where I come from

I am originally from Khasavyurt, Dagestan. My path in technology did not begin with business — it began with hands-on engineering work: systems administration, servers, programming, and data-related projects. For more than twelve years Türkiye has been my second home, and that is where I build and run the products.

From engineer to builder

Over time my focus shifted from solving individual technical problems to building products of my own. It started with small tools for myself and the people around me, and grew into services used by tens of thousands. The engineering background did not go anywhere: I still look at a product through its constraints — what the server will hold, how it behaves on a bad connection, where the data lives.

Why Muslim Tech

I am interested in a stronger digital environment for Muslims — not as isolation from the world, but as high-quality alternatives where our audience has real needs: communication, education, family, privacy, financial tools, and everyday utilities. If a general-purpose product already does the job well, I do not build a copy of it.

How I make product decisions

I identify more with a builder than a public “guru.” I test an idea quickly, put together a prototype, launch it for real users, listen to feedback and improve the product. Sometimes an idea does not work — that is part of the process too. I try to remain more than a manager: to discuss the logic, test the solutions, work with technical constraints and read what users write directly.

  1. Idea

Usually a problem I keep running into myself.

  2. Prototype

A working version fast — not a deck about it.

  3. Launch

Real users, in public, with all the rough edges.

  4. Feedback

Fix, rebuild — and sometimes shut it down.
